XeriscaperA year-round resident, Cate studies the native desert plants and takes special care of them during the summer monsoon season when temperatures can soar to the upper 120s alternating with fierce winds and rains. Many snowbird residents hire Cate to look after their yards and homes while they summer in cooler climes. Crew Leader The U. S. Department of Commerce, Census Bureau, assigned Cate to lead a crew of 18 address canvassers plus two assistants during the Spring 2009 operation. Cate traveled throughout south western Arizona leading and attending meetings with management and "mappers." public domain image

Web Designer, Arizona History Nut Bouse Chamber of Commerce contracted with Cate to design and build their website Next they asked Cate to research and produce copy about Bouse and its history. I learned there are remains of a copper mining town and an ultra top-secret WWII training camp right down the road from my house! Now I am absolutely hooked on studying Arizona history. Quartzsite Chamber of Commerce directors hired Cate as publicist to cover events and release news articles about their activities. Soon they hired Cate to produce the Quartzsite Chamber News and Quartzsite Visitors Guide. Later they hired Cate as Interim Executive Director to oversee all aspects of chamber business.
